Breakfast (brek·fuhst) is the first meal of the day. Its the first meal waking from the night’s sleep in the morning. The word in English refers to breaking the fasting period of the previous night. There is a strong likelihood for one or more “typical,” or “traditional,” breakfast menus to exist in most places, but their composition varies widely from place to place and has varied over time so that globally an extensive range of preparations and ingredients are now associated with Breakfast.

While Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, some contest the positive implications of its “most important” status.

Nutritional experts have referred to Breakfast as the most important meal of the day. Citing studies that find that people who skip this meal are disproportionately likely to have problems with concentration, metabolism, and weight.
